Tunduru Garnet Yellowish Orange USA Precision Cut Long Hexagon 7.3x4.5mm 1.30ct
Very Unique garnet here. While this is without a doubt from Tunduru in Tanzania, the exact species of garnet is not known for certain. However, I am fairly confident that is is a grossular garnet, so probably close to hessonite. The stone itself has an interesting color and a different look to it than I'm used to. While it is eye clean it is also somewhat silky or sleepy looking. Any inclusions that cause this are too small to make out. The cut design is a nice custom hexagon design I made for when I find the right material. This one is interesting to look at and the color isn't consistent in all light. Sometimes it's a bit more brown while other times it lights up a tangerine orange with yellow flashes. All in all a fun and unique stone if you have the right project for it.
