TOP QUALITY COPY of a Photo ID Card of Soviet KGB Special Departments Officer.
This document is a High-Quality FAKE which closely resembles the original. It shows very convincing “wear” and “age”, and it’s made of quality materials. The front shows impressed inscription “Identification Card”.  The internal part shows that the document was issued by the Directorate of the Special Departments of the Committee of State Security at the Council of Ministers of the USSR. The name of the “owner” is shown as “Liliya Yevtushenko”.  The document states that she is a Senior Officer of the KGB Special Department at the Military Unit #13170 (a fictitious unit number.) On the left page, the ID states that it is valid through 31 December 1996 (sic!)
Fakes like this one are currently made in Russia and Ukraine to sell to unsuspecting beginner collectors and foreign tourists. They often show “genuine” heavy wear and even soiling and damage to make them look more convincing. Sometimes they are sold as a part of a large “group” of awards. Buyers beware!
Even though this is a fake, it is a nice item to have as a study example or to else to use as a display case “filler” (original KGB IDs of this type are EXTREMELY rare and very expensive).
