    Russian Empire, Medal for the Subjugation of Chechnya and Dagestan in 1857-1859, high quality REPRODUCTION.
    Made in SOLID SILVER (just like the originals), measures 26.9 mm wide; weighs 9.6 grams. This replica is of SUPERB QUALITY! It has very well-executed details and correct aged appearance with convincing looking "wear" and patina.
    Of course, the medal differs from the original in many small details, but it can easily fool even an experienced collector who is not very careful. High-quality fakes like this one are often sold as originals.  This particular copy is clearly quite old - and it just goes to show that age or patina alone do not guarantee in any way that the medal is real!
