Description

White with "crocodile" type pattern on gift box.  L.S. Ayres + Co of Indiana (Indianapolis).  This is what my family called a "lingerie" gift box.  Usually a ladies dress slip, scarf or gloves were packaged in these gift boxes when these types of items were purchased.  It has a "tongue in slot"  closure with the tongue part having a little tear.  Found in Mom's estate.  She had used it to store something in it from her wedding.  Inside my Mom hand wrote "Worn by Sue in Pat's wedding, March 12, 1950."  A little out of original shape, but still fine.  Inside of box has yellowed.  See photos.  PLEASE NOTE:  THIS IS AN EMPTY BOX.
