AMOCO inauguration Yombo Field, Pointe Noire, Congo, 20th of July ‘91. Commeroative Oil Sample in Plastic Cube Box.
This is a clear plastic cube with AMOCO Hydro-Congo Kufoec embossed in white lettering in the top and Yombo Field Inauguratuin, Pointe Noire, Congo, 20th July ‘91 embossed in white letters on the front of the cube. In the middle of the cube is a teardrop looking container holding the oil which initially came from that field. It measures approximately 2” x 2” x 2”.
Yombo heavy oil field was discovered in 1988 in Congo's offshore Lower Congo Basin. The field was developed using two wellhead platforms tied-back to a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, where all the crude is processed. Perenco has operated the field since 2002. The field was operated under concession terms until 2015 when a new PSC contract was signed.
This is a wonderful oilfield collectible and memento. It is in excellent condition and been well taken care of.
